Adolescent health and development are foundations for a country’s economic development and key to achieving the demographic dividend in West and Central Africa.
This review analyses the impact of laws and policies on young people in five countries (Burkina Faso, Ghana, Niger, Nigeria and Sierra Leone).
It provides findings and recommendations to create an enabling legal and policy environment that empowers and allows young people – especially young girls – to be protected from child marriage, access health services, be educated and have decent employment.
