Burkina Faso

Burkina Faso is experiencing a severe humanitarian crisis, with 6.3 million people in need, including an estimated 1.4 million women of reproductive age and 756,000 adolescent girls. High insecurity, displacement, and constrained healthcare access, including limited SRH services, are impacting the Eastern, Centre-North, and Northern regions. In the Sahel region, humanitarian access is severely limited, and the constant threat of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) persists. Nationwide health facility closures have significantly restricted essential healthcare services, including SRH and GBV support. Projected funding shortfalls are expected to severely affect GBV survivors' access to medical care and reduce the availability of critical SRH services and contraceptives, thereby exacerbating vulnerabilities and risks for women and girls.
