Over 6.4 million people in Mali require humanitarian assistance, including an estimated 1.4 million women of reproductive age and an estimated 196,968 pregnant women.

Mali faces a protracted and complex humanitarian crisis driven by escalating insecurity, political instability, and significant humanitarian needs. Population displacements due to the persistent threat of violence and insecurity remain a significant concern across the affected regions. Civilians face ongoing risks from armed conflict, including the threat of improvised explosive devices and targeted attacks. Women and girls are particularly vulnerable, experiencing heightened risks to GBV and their rights amidst widespread violence.

Humanitarian operations in Mali are severely challenged by significant funding constraints, leading to disruptions and suspensions of critical aid programs. Urgent funding is required to sustain the humanitarian program and ensure the delivery of essential SRH and GBV services to those most in need.
