In April 2025, West and Central Africa faced escalating humanitarian crises driven by conflict, climate shocks, and displacement, compounded by severe funding constraints. Funding Crisis: Only 14% of the required $103 million for humanitarian response has been received. This is severely impacting the provision of critical SRH and GBV services, including a reduction of midwives to provide life-saving services to pregnant women. Chad, CAR, and Mali lost critical humanitarian funding positions due to the termination of U.S grants.
